Hamdan introduced his presentation in a simple way; and his presentation was about Global Warming. He had good eye contact with the audience but he was little bit nervous and confused. He was standing at the side of the screen and sometimes he stand in middle of the screen. Hamdan use some notes to read from and read some information from the screen. He spoke in a clear way but his voice was loud which reached the listener.

His PowerPoint was specific and clear, and the slides backgrounds were in a good shape and sequence. He used a rich text size with good contrast. Also it didn’t contain a lot of details but only little information at the bottom on the slides. He use normal pictures and that was clear for the students while he explaining.

The presentation was good in general and I get much information about Global Warming but he had not enough confidence in himself so because that he sometimes didn’t explain some points very well.  His topic was interesting and very very important to know about global warming and its effects. In the end he answer the questions very well.

Khuloud welcomed everyone and she introduced her presentation clearly and well which was about judo. She made eye contact with the audience and she stood at the side not in front of the screen. She had a note and sometimes she read from it. She spoke clearly enough but she was sometimes tense and she was smiling at everyone.

The slides were excellent with a little text on them. They were clear, interesting and informative. And all of the photos were explaining the topic and we all benefitted from it. She put some animations about judo rules.

Since she was the only girl in the class there was some tension in her speech and she smiled a lot, but she provided everything well. Overall the presentation was interesting and informative.

Problem: Video games effect on teenagers and kids

 

Abdullah Ali started the meeting with his group to find some solutions about video game effects on teenagers and kids, he started with an introduction and then he said the agenda for this problem which is:

a)      Behavior: disorder symptoms

b)      Bad effect on study performance

c)       Social problems

d)      The effect of playing violent games on children

For the first point Hasan mentioned that the parents should take the children to see a psychiatrist to let them see the bad effect of sitting a long time playing the video games. For the second point Hamdan said that the parents should keep in touch with the teachers and encourage their children to get high marks in the school. And for the third point Abdulkareem that the parents should communicate with their kids and take them every weekend for a trip to keep them away from video games. Finally for the last point Abdullah admonished the parents who should look after their children and keep them away from violent games or even stay with them when they play these games and don’t let them practice these games on others.

 

Recommendation:

       1) Seeing a psychiatrist is a good idea but our society thinks that anyone who goes and sees a psychiatrist is crazy and because of this it’s difficult for the children to accept this idea.

      2) Keeping the parents in touch with the teachers will help the parents very much with their children to know the academic achievement and will encourage the children to study more to get what they need.

     3) Going out on a trip will benefit the children and parents and the communication between them and thus will reduce the time of children sitting alone and spending their time playing video games.

     4) Violent games are harmful and parents should not allow their children to play them.

 

In the end the benefit that I had from this meeting is very valuable. I learnt how to do a meeting and how to share my suggestions with the others and how to convince the others and finally it was very interesting meeting and I hope that the teenagers and kids will take our solutions that keep them in a positive side.

Abdullah (chairman) opened the meeting to find with his group some solutions that will benefit the teenagers and kids.

Hasan mentioned that the parents should take the teenagers and kids to see a psychiatrist to talk with their children and show them the bad effect that will be exposed to them in the future.

2) Bad effect on study performance

Hamdan said that the parents should keep in touch with the teachers to know how their kids are doing with study and if they have bad marks they take the games from them and encourage them to study hard and if they get good marks they return the games but put for them a long time to study instead of playing video games.

3) Social problems

Abdullkareem said that the parents should do a trip at the weekends for their children and take them to the park or to visit their grandmother, grandfather or arrange a trip with the whole family and go to the beach; that will keep the children in touch with the family instead of being alone and playing video games.

4) The effect of playing violent games on teenagers

Abdullah admonished the parents and said they should look after the teenagers when they play the violent games and show them the bad effects of playing these games and advise them that this is just a game and don't practise it on others.

   Hamdan Khamis came on Sunday to our company for a job interview. The chairman of the interviewing panel was Mr.Hedley and the 1^st interviewer was Hamad Khaled and the 2^nd interviewer was Abduallah Ali. Hamdan started his interview by introducing himself; he’s 19 years old, studying at ADMC, single; he’s got TOFEL\ SAT and IELTS. He’s qualified and he has a good GPA and after he will finish his bachelor program he will complete his education to get the master certificate. He can work under pressure; he says that he can work at night and he can work at weekends and he thinks that he’s creative. His greatest weakness is to wake up early and he has to drive in the morning, and his greatest strength is that he can solve the problems and he’s a quick learner. He sees himself after 7 years that he will reach the higher position in the company. His goals are to complete his education and improve himself in his position in the company and have enough experience in his job. He never heard any negative thing about the company. He’s interested in kayaking and every weekend he goes to Yas Island to play this sport. He asked the chairman of the interview when he will start working in the company; the chairman said that for your grade we will call you after one month. At the end of the interview the interviewer thanked Hamdan for coming along to the interview and they hoped to see him soon.
